PRIDE MONTH WITH TRANS MAGAZINE

PRIDE MONTH WITH TRANS MAGAZINE

There is Pride in Rest: a series of low-stimulus evenings for the trans and gender diverse community and its allies, as part of the Queer & Pride Amsterdam program.

TRANS magazine, in collaboration with Tugela85 and the Bob Angelo Fund, is organizing a series of low-stimulus evenings during Queer & Pride Amsterdam 2023 that are specifically aimed at the gender diverse community and its allies.

‘Where do the quiet gays go?’ Hannah Gadsby already wondered in 2018 in her comedy show ‘Nanette’. With this she refers to her aversion to the hustle and bustle surrounding celebrating pride: dance parties that are too big, too busy and too noisy and other events that are not seen as a fun way to celebrate pride for many introverted or neurodiverse queers.

This year TRANS magazine provides 3 stimulus-free evenings for the group of gender diverse people and allies who are looking for an evening to celebrate their pride without loud music and large crowds. Evenings in a cozy and comfortable lounge, with quiet conversations, good books, non-alcoholic drinks, snacks and silent disco headphones. A group of volunteers keeps an eye on the peace and ensures that it is a nice and safe environment to celebrate your own pride party in peace.

On the last evening, Friday July 28, between 8 and 9 p.m., we will close the stimulus-free pride with a conversation about the future of TRANS magazine and how we can better unite the trans community. Our new board will also officially take over there and we will say goodbye to the old board.

All people, who for various reasons do not want or cannot go to loud and busy parties, but would like to be together during Pride week, are very welcome! Bring your favorite book, keep your fidget toys close to you and come celebrate pride with us.
